"I have worked with a diverse population of students. I was a teacher in urban KCK for two years and then Spring Hill for two years. In the classroom, I taught 4th and 5th grade, but I've tutored students K-12. I've also helped students prepare for the ACT. Additionally, I am certified to teach students who have English as their Second Language (ESL) and middle school mathematics."

Kurt Colville
Bachelor's in Physics
"I have tutored high school and college students in math and physics at area colleges and private high schools, and throughout local school districts. I place an emphasis on teaching in a way that is graspable and retainable, working with the particular student's own way of learning, asking the student lots of questions as we go to develop the ability to articulate knowledge, and building the student's own independent thinking and confidence. I love to teach and see that light bulb go on!"

Renee Potts
Currently obtaining a Bachelor's in Biology and a Minor in Spanish
"I am a sophomore at KU studying biology and Spanish, and when I graduate, I will be licensed to teach middle and high school science. I have always loved helping kids learn, seeing them find an interest or passion for a particular topic, and playing a role in their "lightbulb moments"! I have had experience working with kids of all ages through being a daycare teacher, teaching music lessons to elementary and middle schoolers, volunteering in an elementary school, and working for my former high school's music program. I look forward to getting to know my students and teaching in a personalized way that helps them feel capable and confident in themselves."

Bachelor’s in Special Education
Master’s in Library & Information Technology
Reading Specialist Certification
"I have worked with a wide variety of students in various capacities for over
20 years in both public schools and specialized schools. My main focus was children with special needs. I am able to
pinpoint a child learns best, connects, and retains information which has led to successes with students in whom others did not see the potential. My heart has always been with the art of teaching in its
purest form in order to help students reach their true potential and
overcome any obstacle they may encounter. I hope to help you and
your child do the same.
