Build Confidence. Improve Scores. Prepare for College.

All ACT tutoring sessions are personally led by Jordan Raglow, founder of Adaptive Academics. Sessions are held in person and customized to each student’s individual goals, strengths, and areas for growth. Students receive personalized prep materials and homework assignments (calculator not included) designed to build confidence and improve performance. Instruction focuses on content mastery, pacing and timing strategies, and effective test-taking skills to help students approach the ACT with confidence.

  • Their current score doesn't reflect their classroom performance or GPA

  • They aren't sure where to start with studying

  • They need help building a realistic study plan and schedule

  • They are balancing sports, activities, and a busy schedule and need efficient prep

Which ACT Prep Format is Right for Your Student?

One-On-One ACT Tutoring

One-on-one ACT tutoring offers the most personalized approach to test preparation. Sessions are tailored to each student’s individual goals, strengths, testing history, and target score areas, allowing instruction to focus where it will make the greatest impact. These sessions also provide the greatest flexibility in scheduling and pacing. One-on-one tutoring is ideal for students who want highly individualized support, need help building confidence or test-taking strategies, or are aiming for significant score improvement. Sessions are typically two hours long, and we recommend a minimum of five sessions prior to test day. Instruction is available for the English, Math, and Reading sections of the ACT, with optional Science and Writing prep available as an add-on. One-on-one tutoring is offered year-round for every ACT test date, and students are encouraged to begin preparation at least one month before their exam.

One-on-One Pricing

  • $90/hour

Small Group ACT Tutoring

Our small group ACT prep courses provide a collaborative and cost-effective option while still maintaining a personalized feel. Groups are intentionally kept small, with just 2–5 students, allowing for meaningful instruction, discussion, and individualized attention that larger prep classes often lack. Small group sessions cover the English, Math, and Reading sections of the ACT and are a great fit for students who are motivated by learning alongside peers. While the optional Science and Writing sections are not included in the group format, they can be added through individual tutoring sessions if desired. Pricing for small group prep is tiered based on group size, with lower per-student rates as additional students join the course.

Small Group Pricing:

  • Two students: $700/student

  • Three students: $650/student

  • Four students: $600/student

  • Five students: $550/student

Our Approach to ACT Tutoring

At Adaptive Academics, we believe effective ACT prep goes beyond memorizing formulas or completing endless practice problems. Our approach focuses on helping students truly understand the structure of the test, strengthen core academic skills, and develop strategies they can confidently apply on test day. Each student begins with individualized guidance based on their goals, strengths, timeline, and target score areas, allowing sessions to be tailored to what will make the greatest impact.

Instruction emphasizes a balance of content knowledge, pacing strategies, and test-taking skills. Students learn how to approach different question types efficiently, manage time pressure, avoid common mistakes, and build confidence throughout the testing process. We also recognize that every student learns differently, which is why sessions are designed to be adaptable, encouraging, and supportive rather than one-size-fits-all.

Why Families Choose Adaptive Academics

Families choose Adaptive Academics because of our personalized, relationship-focused approach to ACT tutoring. Rather than placing students into large, generic prep classes, we work closely with each student to provide individualized instruction and realistic strategies that fit their learning style and schedule. Parents appreciate the flexibility, communication, and supportive environment, while students benefit from focused instruction that helps reduce stress and build confidence leading up to test day.

Our students have seen score increases as high as 5 composite ACT points through consistent preparation and targeted instruction. While every student’s goals and results are different, we focus on helping students make meaningful progress while building skills that extend beyond the ACT itself. From strengthening academic foundations to improving confidence under pressure, our goal is to help students feel prepared, capable, and supported throughout the process.
